Sociology
Today I was studying for my Sociology exam and I realized something. What does society mean to you?
It means to me, a means of acting without thinking.
When you see a little boy chase a girl on the playground what do you think? it is gender stratification in the process of ritual intent that went on for at least a hundred years that enforces the inequality of women. Then you look around some more and see all the 'cute' looking kids in one corner while the 'non-cute' are in another. Which is an example of social class. Look closer and they even separated with what society deemed as 'race'.

Ireland
Today I have received an offer to go to Scotland/Ireland Area. My dream is to go to Ireland and spend a summer there or two or live there. It is an absolutely beautiful place with lots of rolling hills and cascades of fountains. It seems like it would be a very fun trip.
I was not searching for anything like this, but it just came to me. It is like an early Christmas present.
Must be the luck of the Irish.

Wondering
Today, as I was walking, I took a glance around me to realize that no one looks at each other in today's society. I then smiled at someone and they smiled back. I was curious to see what that person would do now with a smile so I watched. To my amusement I watched the person smile at someone else and then them with someone else.

I had written this in the year of 2004 and It was a time in my life where I was mildly distraught. So I created a poem that would capture anyone who reads it with whatever emotion they posses at the time of reading the poem.
Now that I look back at it it was a very distressing time in my life. There were issues that are not there now. It is quiet refreshing thought to know where I came from
what do you think of it?

Living Now
When we look around our lives and wonder where we will go from here? What do I do now? When will I know? We have to release our expectations and travel unknowing for a while.
One day this last couple of weeks I said to myself " am done looking for love for right now I am just going to let what happens happens." Later that day I found someone who thinks the same way I do. I get to know this person, and finally said to them will you go to dinner with me.....and the answer was yes. I was quiet pleased. :-) So when you think odds are too great take a step back to breathe.

living in between the lines.
There is a path........
I learned that keeping things balanced
of cascading emotions
That above all require balance
Now I am free-flowing
Now that I look back, there was longing and
it will come to you in its own time.

Following my own steps
Today when I got out of bed and took my shower. I thought it was going to be an ordinary day. When I went to go into the shower I noticed that someone else was in there so i waited patiently and thought a little to myself about what i needed to do today and I day dreamed about some things I could do today. After my shower I walked fairly slowly to my first class just letting the wet grass softly moisten my toes with dew, and rain. I found a friend today that I sometimes find and I walked with him to I had to leave for class. I arrived at my first class of the day, Sociology.
In this class we went over psychology of the mass today. We went over why 'bob' did not wear a dress. The class came up with that only "pretty" people from the media where dresses. I was just observing and watching this conversation commence into a cascade of ideas in my head. If the media has so much premise on societies decisions, why do most people not get what will make them happy or make themselves voluntarily in pain? Then I decided to go against it for a couple of minutes and try to find prof that it was wrong. All I could find is personal experiences that proved it right. So my mission for today is to observe what I do to make myself not as happy as I could be, and reverse it while swimming down my stream, not my neighbors stream.

Walking
I was walking around our pond, and I saw one of the most queer things.
A duck that looks as if it was part turkey buzzard. I watched the bird as it tried to walk around, it was having a little trouble with the walking bit but then another duck come about and it was one of the most beautiful ducks I had ever seen. A perfectly white duck with the perfect bill, came up and helped the other duck along and trailing behind that white dock was baby mallard ducks. One of these ducklings resembled the odd duck.
At first when I saw this I was astonished and became humbled that the old duck had a mate that was beautiful and dedicated.
As they both swam off into the pond I thought of how both of the ducks were just flowing with life naturally in a pond that is dirty from what has been thrown into it, yet still floating along like it was nothing at all. It was one of the most beautiful things I could share for today.
:)
